Welcome To Our Humble Site

At 4 am, on December 3rd, 1997, while driving home from Houston after an increadible concert (Duran Duran, natch) Peggy and I started brainstorming. We wanted to create a new Duran site, but we wanted to do something original. There are so many great Duran sites already out there (and if you don't believe that check out out links page).

I'd like to thank the acadamy, my director, my producer, my agent... oh wait. This is a Duran award... That's better still. Thanks Rosa and Vickie. You guys are so cool. Look at me, I'm all choked up. Everyone, click on the Double Trouble award to go see their most excellent site.

We didn't want to recreate something that someone else had already done so well. Then we started talking about all the great magazines we used to read. I swear we went on a laughing jag for ten minutes over 'Bold Type'. (Remember 'Bold Type'?.) Suddenly it struck us, of course, we'd do a page dedicated to those great magazines. It would be cool, it would be fun, heck, it would be hillarious.
Of course next came the name. We jumped on Timeslip which was the name of a tv show John did an episode of back in the mid 80's.
So now our goal is to bring back all those silly and embarrassing tributes to those boys we all love and relive them with a glint in our eyes and toungues firmly in cheeks. You may ask why Warren isn't here. It's not that we don't love him too, it's just that Timeslip is dedicated to all those teen magazines and info books that we spent all of our lunch money and allowances on back in the days when parachute pants and blond bangs were just the in thing. Maybe sometime in the future we'll venture into the era of Big Thing and beyond but for now, our plates are full.

For now, sit back, grab your mouse and join us for a hilarious and memorable trip into the past, into the Eighty's!
