Wow...This was hilarious fun indeed. I can remember being a child whose confused grandmother used to buy him ‘Tiger Beat’ and the like, and while I wasn’t up for any dates with John Taylor, I ruthlessly devoured any info on my favourite band, Duran Duran. I can even remember reading one of the very articles you’ve posted on the site. For the boy inside who wanted to be Simon LeBon, dashing international man about town, it was a great trip down memory lane. :-)
One question... having recently re-discovered that Duran Duran is still making good music, I find myself wondering why and when John left the band. I can’t seem to find any info on it. If you could point me to someplace with an explanation, or furnish one, I’d be grateful. I think it’s too bad....

Thanks Rich, we love it when people rave over our site.
John left to persue a solo career and do his own thing. He has released two solo albums on his B5 label and has another with his new group Terroristen. To learn more, visit him at his website at www.trusttheprocess.com   - TS

Hi-

I just found your fantastic site while killing time at work. I have been checking out Duran sites over the past couple of months, and I have to tell you that your site has really grabbed my attention. I am an "old Duran" fanatic. I "found Duran Duran" in the summer of ‘82, when a local college radio station started playing them. It was so hard to find any info on them let alone an album, but I eventually purchased Carnival, and I only aquired that after harrassing my local record store for weeks.
The early to mid Eighties are times I fondly remember, and you really struck a chord when you mentioned all of the old teen magazines. I used to buy them all of the time!
I hope to be able to dig deeper into your site over the next few days. I really look forward to going back to the days of MY Duran Duran. Thanks for taking me back!
Have a super weekend!
