| He’s not exactly the Boy (George) next
door! "As far as I’m
concerned there is no difference between me and Liberace," quips Culture Club’s
eccentric lead singer, Boy George, when queried about his off-beat appearance. Barefoot,
with braided hair and heavily made-up face, the 22-year-old showman claims, "the way
I dress is part of my character!" |

| Born George O’Sowd and raised in a large Irish Catholic family, Boy George was kicked out of school at 15. He held down an odd assortment of jobs – including fruit packer, printer, millner and make-up artist for the Royal Shakespeare Company – before turning to music. Now he has obviously found his niche. According to Boy George, "Culture Club offered a free membeship and it’s open to everyone." With a succession of hits like "Do you really want to hurt me?," "Time," and "I’ll Tumble 4 Ya," it’s membership’s increasing by the minute! | |||
